Job Description

Thames Water is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cost Analyst to join our team. As a Senior Cost Analyst, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive financial planning and reporting support to our Retail – Service delivery team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting: Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including valuable performance insights, to drive efficiency and support our business goals.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Prepare and manage detailed budgets and forecasts for our Demand Reduction programme, monitoring performance against agreed targets and investigating operational causes of variances and issues.
  • Financial Modeling: Build and maintain financial cost models for our Demand Reduction programmes.
  • Capital Project Management: Manage the lifecycle of capital projects in SAP, from creation to delivery monitoring, and closing down and commissioning assets or writing off costs if no asset is created.
  • Investment Paper Preparation: Support Project Managers in preparing upcoming Investment Papers, providing financial input for review and endorsement ahead of submission for approval.
  • Stock Management: Support in improving and maintaining a robust stock management system for Meter stock, from procurement to accurate cost allocation in projects.
Requirements:
  • Finance Background: Strong finance background with experience in project cost management.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical, Excel, and PowerPoint skills, with experience using and building financial models in Excel.
  • ERP Experience: Experience using SAP ERP.
  • Power BI: Experience with Power BI.
  • Commercial Acumen: Strong business and commercial acumen.

  • Competitive Salary: A competitive salary of £48,000 and up to £58,000 per annum depending on skills and experience.
