Job Title: Senior Cost Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cost Analyst to join our team at Thames Water. As a Senior Cost Analyst, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive financial planning and reporting support to our Retail - Service delivery team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain detailed financial models for Demand Reduction programmes.
  • Prepare and manage monthly financial results, accrual management, and variance analysis against set budgets for management and group finance reporting.
  • Support the management of Metering stock control and reporting.
  • Collaborate with the Programme Cost & Financial Planning Manager to produce financial reporting and valuable performance insights to drive efficiency and support the Thames Water turnaround journey.
  • Manage the lifecycle of capital projects in SAP from creation to closing down and commissioning the asset or writing off costs if no asset is created.
  • Provide financial input for review and endorsement of Investment Papers ahead of submission for approval.
  • Support in improving and maintaining a robust stock management system for Meter stock.

Requirements:

  • Strong finance background with experience in project cost management.
  • Excellent analytical, Excel, and PowerPoint skills, with knowledge of Power BI.
  • Ability to build and maintain financial models in Excel.
  • SAP ERP experience.
  • Power BI experience.
  • Strong business and commercial acumen.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to Clearwater court or MGJV Stock Warehouses.
  • Part qualification in accounting (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or working towards a qualification is desirable.

  • A competitive salary of £48,000 and up to £58,000 per annum depending on skills and experience.
