As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective management of our fleet, while maintaining a strong focus on health and safety, environmental compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of traffic dispatchers, drivers, and operatives to ensure seamless day-to-day operations.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve fleet efficiency, reduce costs, and increase profitability.
- Ensure compliance with transport and environmental legislation, including third-party insurance claims.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and implement changes.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with external customers and partners.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in a similar role, preferably in the services or logistics industry.
- National CPC qualification is essential.
- Proven track record of people and health and safety management in a unionized and multi-shift environment.
- Strong understanding of lean methodology and ability to work to clearly defined KPIs.
- Experience of successful resource management and cost control.
- Knowledge of transport legislation and existing and impending environmental and health and safety legislation.
- Strong commercial background and ability to work in a time-critical environment.
