Role Overview:

We are pleased to announce an opportunity within our Vehicle Dynamics Division for a Vehicle Performance Engineer. The ideal candidate will collaborate with a team of specialists focused on the ongoing enhancement of vehicle performance. A proactive approach and a passion for excellence are essential to drive our initiatives forward and achieve optimal outcomes.

As a Vehicle Performance Engineer, your key responsibilities will encompass:

  • Identifying, analyzing, and developing strategies to overcome performance constraints of current vehicle models, aiming for significant lap time reductions.
  • Actively contributing to future vehicle development projects by utilizing advanced simulation tools and methodologies to establish design objectives that ensure peak performance throughout the racing season.
  • Innovating and refining concepts that provide a competitive advantage in the existing simulation framework, while conducting necessary performance assessments.
  • Enhancing and evolving methodologies for simulating vehicle performance to support data-driven design decisions.
  • Assisting in the ongoing advancement of simulation tools to bolster the team's capability in optimizing vehicle performance.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Strong academic credentials in mechanical, automotive, or aerospace engineering (preferably at the master's level, with a minimum 2:1 classification) or equivalent experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of racing vehicle dynamics, suspension systems, vertical dynamics, tire performance, and aerodynamics.
  • Proficiency in analyzing experimental and simulation data to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Experience in tackling optimization challenges.
  • Familiarity with vehicle modeling and simulation techniques.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams, meeting ambitious deadlines with minimal oversight.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of engaging effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to work.

Preferred:

  • Advanced proficiency in Matlab is essential; experience with Dymola is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Lagrangian mechanics is a plus.
