Job Description

Job Title: Director of Finance

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Finance to join our team at Friends of the Earth. As a key member of our Senior Leadership Team, you will be responsible for ensuring the financial sustainability and compliance of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic oversight and leadership to our central services, including finance, IT, facilities, and governance.
  • Ensure the organization's financial sustainability and compliance with relevant regulations and laws.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the organization's mission and goals.
  • Lead and manage a team of finance professionals to ensure effective financial management and reporting.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment and effective use of resources.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in financial leadership and management, preferably in a non-profit or environmental organization.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations and laws, including tax and accounting principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to think strategically and make informed decisions.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
