About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Junior Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Gonville Caius College Careers. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for supporting the Head Chef and Senior Sous Chefs in the preparation and presentation of high-quality food to students, Fellows, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a team of chefs to produce food for students, Fellows, and staff, including the Masters Lodge and conferencing business.
- Support the Head Chef and Senior Sous Chefs in all aspects of food preparation, including menu planning, food safety, and inventory management.
- Develop and implement new recipes and menu ideas to enhance the dining experience for our customers.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure efficient and effective food production, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and presentation.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of kitchen policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong background in food production and kitchen management.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team of chefs.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of quality and presentation.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with a strong focus on food safety and hygiene.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices, with a strong understanding of HACCP principles.
