Project Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team at Nicholas Associates. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for managing projects from start to finish, working closely with our in-house design and engineering teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical support for sales team, including quotation support and technical issues
  • New process and product development, completed in line with project plan and budget, takt time calculation, quality, and cost
  • Existing process and cost improvement, identified, capitalized where required, project managed and implemented to deliver pre-determined benefits
  • NPI projects completed in line with our pre-agreed NPI process, customer specification requirements, and internal functional needs
  • Determine new and improved tools, fixturing, and supporting equipment to facilitate delivery of product new or existing
  • Daily support for operations team on manufacturing issues affecting current production
  • Support all actions required for FMEA and control plan activities for new and existing projects
  • Attend and present at section and company meetings as required
  • Develop and build relationships with customers, suppliers, or contractors

Requirements:

  • Qualified to HNC level desirable
  • Background in high volume manufacturing, precision engineered products, machined products, or similar
  • Competence in Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Project
  • Good working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems
  • Project management experience
  • Capable of working unsupervised and using own initiative
  • Confident communicator
  • Lean manufacturing background
  • 2D CAD experience beneficial

Benefits:

Location: Hucknall

Hours: Monday-Friday, office hours, can be agreed with the Manufacturing Manager

Contracted hours per week: 37.5 hours, early finish on a Friday at 1:30pm
