Essential Qualifications:
  • A degree in a technical discipline (such as Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Construction Management) or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in project management, collaborating with diverse teams and stakeholders, resource allocation, and financial planning.
  • Familiarity with aspects pertinent to submarine cable project execution: optical DWDM transmission, manufacturing processes, quality assurance (QA), marine installation, or environmental compliance.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • 2 years of experience in sectors such as telecommunications, oil and gas, offshore operations, or environmental consultancy.
  • Proven track record in formulating large-scale strategies and persuading cross-functional partners to achieve objectives.
  • Capability to apply professional judgment to address uncertainties and support decision-making.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with a keen eye for detail.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

The Subsea Build team is a dedicated unit within Global Submarine Networks, focusing on the construction of cable systems. This highly skilled team combines expertise in marine construction, fiber-optic networking, project management, and contractual negotiations to deliver essential infrastructure. The Subsea Build team places a strong emphasis on collaboration and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage in the procurement process for cable systems, advise on vendor selection, and participate in contract negotiations.
  • Assist in the implementation of supply agreements for submarine cable construction projects, ensuring coordination between internal teams and suppliers.
  • Work with vendors on strategies for permit acquisition, monitor the permit application process, and assess associated risks. Develop and execute mitigation strategies while evaluating schedule impacts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the preparedness of cable landing stations, fronthaul, backhaul, and beach infrastructure to facilitate cable installation.
  • Provide internal updates on project status, risks, and mitigation strategies to senior management and cross-functional teams.
