Job Title: Senior Structural Engineer

About the Role:

Hampshire County Council is seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our Bridge Design Teams. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering challenging bridge design and maintenance schemes, working closely with our clients to ensure the successful completion of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and assessment of bridge structures, ensuring compliance with relevant design and assessment standards.
  • Develop and implement effective project management strategies to meet project deadlines and budgets.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to identify and develop innovative solutions to complex bridge design and maintenance challenges.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers, promoting their professional development and growth.
  • Contribute to the development of our Bridge Design Teams, sharing knowledge and expertise to drive excellence in our work.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or significant relevant experience.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of structural behaviour, design codes, materials, and proficient in computer analysis.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload to ensure that timescales and budgets are met.
  • In-depth understanding of current Eurocodes, British Standards, and assessment codes.
  • Working knowledge of the application of structural analysis programs. Good communication skills and a high standard of report writing.
  • Sound understanding of the CDM Regulations.
  • Current divers' licence is essential as the role requires travel to various locations within Hampshire.
