Construction Cost Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Reactive Recruitment. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare activity schedules and bills of quantities to ensure accurate cost estimation and control.
- Perform risk, value management, and cost control to minimize project risks and maximize returns.
- Prepare and agree monthly valuations with clients to ensure timely payment and maintain a positive working relationship.
- Agree final accounts with clients in a prompt and professional manner, ensuring all parties are satisfied with the outcome.
- Allocate work to subcontractors, ensuring that all tasks are completed to the required standard and within the agreed timeframe.
- Provide expert advice on contractual claims, ensuring that the company's interests are protected and that all claims are handled efficiently and effectively.
- Monitor and control build costs, ensuring that projects are delivered within budget and that any cost overruns are minimized.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, equality, environmental, and quality standards, maintaining a safe and healthy working environment for all personnel.
- Degree educated in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor or in a related role, preferably with a main contractor.
- Technical and practical knowledge of the building industry, including construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Excellent negotiation and team working skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and subcontractors.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- General knowledge of health and safety issues, including risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
