Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Voyager Family Health as a PCN Manager. This is a key role within the complex environment of primary care management, requiring a strategic thinker and leader to drive business, data submission, transformation, and improvement initiatives.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day managerial supervision to the PCN, leading and supporting quality improvement and performance.
  • Support the recruitment, induction, and training of new PCN staff, ensuring they have the necessary qualifications, registrations, and skills.
  • Work closely with practices to support network implementation and standardisation of agreed service change, contracts, policies, pathways, and quality improvement.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including practices, community services, social care, mental health, and secondary care.
  • Be accountable for managing projects, ensuring patient safety and quality of care, and establishing necessary monitoring and tracking processes.
  • Help staff understand and support the delivery of the PCN's strategic objectives and outcomes framework.
  • Collate feedback and analysis data to report to the ICB.
  • Coordinate the delivery of enhanced services and other service submissions on behalf of the PCN.
  • Provide management oversight at board and strategic meetings.
  • Develop and run administrative systems for collaboration projects.
  • Work with practice managers to set up and maintain new financial systems.
  • Monitor and check the accuracy of submissions for enhanced services and contractual requirements.
  • Ensure financial risks are recognised and appropriate action taken.
  • Monitor expenditure, plan and monitor income and cash flow to ensure funds are available as required.
  • Present financial plans, strategic goals, and monitoring information to the PCN on a bi-monthly basis.
  • Ensure the PCN's compliance with GDPR, FOI, and other relevant legislation and professional standards.
  • Review latest guidance and liaise with PCN staff and practice managers to ensure awareness and conformity to NHS E, NICE, CQC requirements.
  • Manage risks and issues with supporting outcomes, reporting to the PCN Clinical Director.
  • Assist in the resolution of complaints, resolving informal complaints locally and assisting in the investigation of and response to formal complaints as required.
  • Work with the PCN Clinical Director and supporting groups for strategic and operational planning processes to support the PCN objectives.
  • Support the delivery of QOF, incentive schemes, QIPP, and other quality or cost-effectiveness initiatives.
  • Establish a business development plan.
  • Create a business continuity plan.
  • Develop yourself and the role through participation in training and service redesign activities.
  • Undertake all mandatory training and induction programmes.
  • Contribute to and embrace the spectrum of clinical governance.
  • Attend a formal appraisal with your manager at least every 12 months.
  • Contribute to public health campaigns, flu clinics, through advice or direct care.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area.

Farnborough Primary Care Network is a group of 6 GP Practices working together with a range of local providers to offer personalised and coordinated health and social care to our 65,000-patient population.

Based in an excellent location on the Hampshire/Surrey border in Farnborough, our MDT has a variety of clinical and non-clinical staff who work closely together to provide high-quality care and deliver better health outcomes for our patients.

The Farnborough Practice Managers have a wealth of experience and are excited to work alongside the PCN Manager to develop and coordinate both existing and new services.

The successful candidate will be employed by Voyager Family Health on behalf of Farnborough PCN.
