Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Technical Solutions Consultant to join our team. As a Technical Solutions Consultant, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance to clients and prospects, identifying their technical and business requirements, and designing and delivering IT solutions that meet their needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend meetings with clients and prospects to showcase technical ability and provide assistance and guidance during the pre-sales process.
  • Collate client information to produce a solution and write and produce documentation, designs, and proposals.
  • Deliver technical presentations both internally and externally and work with various teams to feedback on issues with current products and provide input around new products.
  • Create scopes of works for our project delivery team and work with them to successfully deliver a project.
  • Provide technical solutions in a professional manner and to agreed timeframes and promote and quote technical solutions, managed services, and support to the customer with professionalism and enthusiasm.
  • Provide accurate and timely management information and activity reports and forecasts.
  • Provide technical specialist support in some or all of the following: Microsoft Server/365/Azure, HPe Server/Storage, Aruba Switching, Dell Server/Storage, SonicWALL Firewall/Switching, Ruckus Wi-Fi/Switching, and other leading specialist vendors.

Requirements:

  • Must have experience of actively driving and managing the pre-sales process.
  • Must be able to visit the office once or twice a month.
  • Must be based near Birmingham as they will be expected to visit clients 2/3 times a week.
  • Full Clean UK driving license.
  • Good understanding of communication networks (Lease Line – Radio - FTTP - etc).
  • Good understanding of MSP support and managed services offerings.
  • Basic SQL configuration and infrastructure optimisation.
  • MS 365 and Azure (predominantly security - Endpoint Manager – servers - Business Prem/E3 stack).
  • Virtualisation (VMWare vSphere. Hyper-V).
  • Storage – SAN's (HP MSA/Nimble - Dell MD).
  • Windows Server.
  • Active Directory.
  • Exchange Server.
  • SQL Server.
  • Switching (including dynamic routing and dynamic VLANS).
  • Firewalling and perimeter security (Next gen firewalls).
  • Wi-Fi (enterprise grade).
