Medical Affairs Capability Manager

This role is accountable for the design, deployment, and execution of capability programs across global roles in Medical Affairs that drive the delivery of the Medical Affairs Value Proposition with an emphasis on Evidence Generation and Patient Focused Development.
In partnership with Capability Directors on the team, this role seeks to understand the unique capability needs of Medical Affairs staff to shape and build relevant and meaningful capability initiatives that become embedded in ways of working to positively impact employee skill development and their ability to deliver for patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the implementation of capability initiatives and quality control of final deliverables
- In partnership with Capability Directors, drive the needs assessments, capability program design, delivery, measurement and embedding with a strong focus on external engagement excellence & evidence generation
- Ensure successful delivery and deployment of capability initiatives via effective stakeholder management and planning
- Shape GSK wide capability programmes providing the unique MA perspective to ensure relevancy and impact
- Explores future trends, innovation and digital advances and integrates into capability initiatives to drive an effective and engaging learner experience
- Appropriately manage vendors to ensure high quality deliverables and efficient spend in areas such as external engagement, MSL Leader Coaching driving consistent global standards
- Lead the development of Keep Growing Campus (a key internal capability resource) sites maintaining content over time to ensure relevancy
- Track capability program budget liaising with Capability Director to flag key risks and opportunities
- Lead continuous improvement to ensure impactful and relevant capability programs that accelerate employee upskilling and drives desired performance change with a key focus on evidence generation and patient focussed development
- Build an advisory network of SMEs to inform program design at a local and global level for key programs keeping pace with ever evolving healthcare landscapes
- Continually assess external environment for key trends and insights and determine implication for capability building within Medical Affairs
Requirements:
- BSc or BA in a relevant area of study or commensurate professional experience
- Significant and varied experience working in the Pharmaceutical industry
- Experience working in project management or similar operational function in a professional setting
- Experience working with regulatory codes of Promotion and Scientific Engagement (e.g. ABPI, PMCPA, EFPIA, IMC)
- Deep understanding of and practical experience working with core Medical Affairs processes (e.g. Medical Planning, Scientific Engagement Planning, Copy Approval)
- Analytical, logical thought process with proven track record of strong matrix management, facilitation, and project management skills
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, written and oral communications skills
- Superlative presentation skills, across lines and levels and with senior stakeholders
- Ability to think strategically and adapt to shifting priorities
- Ability to think critically, analyzing and evaluating options to inform well thought-out decisions
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience with leading transformational projects, aligned with organizational strategy
- Experience in working with different time-zones and cultures
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- MBA
- Excellent understanding of medical functions and medical affairs activities
- Ability to develop relationships based upon trust and mutual respect
- Experience with building capabilities and/or implementing change initiatives
