Lead M&E Cost Consultant - LJB & Co
We are looking for a skilled M&E Cost Consultant to join our dynamic team. In this position, you will work closely with various project stakeholders, including engineers, BIM experts, estimators, procurement specialists, subcontractors, and clients, to ensure effective and accurate cost management, estimation, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engaging with the estimation team to assess and confirm M&E cost estimates for each project.
- Overseeing cost management strategies, identifying potential financial risks, and reporting them to senior management.
- Performing cost analysis and value engineering to uncover opportunities for cost reduction.
- Tracking and monitoring project expenditures, including variations, change orders, and progress payments.
- Working alongside the estimation/BIM team to guarantee precise quantity take-offs and bills of quantities for M&E systems and installations.
- Reviewing M&E drawings and specifications to ensure all modifications are captured.
- Conducting site assessments to evaluate work progress, verify quantities, and resolve discrepancies.
- Assessing subcontractor claims and preparing detailed reports on quantities, rates, and payment requests.
- Managing project contracts in collaboration with the project team, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations.
- Analyzing contractual agreements to identify key obligations, milestones, and deliverables.
- Handling contractual correspondence, including change orders and claims, in coordination with the project team.
- Collaborating with the legal/compliance team to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Implementing systems to monitor labor resources and performance on M&E projects.
- Evaluating labor productivity and performance to identify improvement areas and implement corrective actions.
- Working with project managers and site supervisors to collect labor-related data and analyze productivity trends.
- Generating reports on labor efficiency, productivity, and performance metrics for each project.
- Preparing regular cost reports, forecasts, and cash flow projections for M&E works.
- Maintaining comprehensive records of all M&E cost-related documents, contracts, and communications.
- Compiling and presenting cost reports to project stakeholders, emphasizing key insights and recommendations.
- Assisting in the preparation of final accounts and resolution of claims.
Qualifications:
- Essential degree in Quantity Surveying/Construction Economics or a related discipline.
- Proven experience as an M&E Quantity Surveyor on large-scale construction projects.
- Expertise in M&E cost management, estimation, and quantity surveying methodologies.
- Strong proficiency in relevant QS software and tools (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, Countfire, Excel).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to M&E works.
