Job Description

As a key member of the Culina Group team, the Warehouse Shift Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse facilities. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position will be responsible for managing teams within the warehouse, motivating employees, and maintaining the highest standards of health and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and motivate the shift team to achieve productivity and service KPIs
  • Lead a team of Team Leaders and Warehouse Operatives in their daily workload
  • Ensure orders are picked, marshalled, unloaded, and loaded in line with customer specifications
  • Maintain the highest levels of health, safety, and hygiene to comply with legislative and quality requirements
  • Deliver communication briefings to keep all shifts informed of company and local issues
  • Manage the goods inwards area to ensure quick and damage-free receipts
  • Develop team members to maximize their contributions to the warehouse
  • Carry out disciplinary and grievance interviews and investigations
  • Monitor and control sickness absence levels and conduct return-to-work interviews
  • Manage manpower planning, including overtime and agency workers
  • Enforce and adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Monitor and control training for teams, including health and safety representation
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a similar role within an FMCG environment
  • Good working knowledge of a warehouse and logistics operation
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of health and safety
  • Ability to motivate and manage a large team
  • Effective prioritization of workload to meet set deadlines
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Strong and effective communication at all levels
  • Proactive and able to make decisions
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
