About the Role
Carrington West is partnering with a leading planning consultancy to recruit a highly motivated and experienced Senior Town Planner to join their dynamic Local Plan Promotion team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to shaping the future of development within the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert planning advice and services on strategic planning policy matters, ensuring alignment with local and national guidelines.
- Lead the promotion of sites through the Local Plan system, including preparing compelling representations, Hearing Statements, and Advocacy Reports.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis to inform planning policies, considering socio-economic factors and development potential.
- Engage effectively with landowners, developers, and other stakeholders throughout the planning process, fostering strong relationships and collaborative outcomes.
- Produce high-quality reports and presentations that clearly articulate planning recommendations and support decision-making.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Chartered membership with the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
- Proven experience within a consultancy or local authority environment, demonstrating a strong understanding of the planning process.
- In-depth knowledge of Local Plans and Planning Policy, including relevant legislation and best practices.
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and report writing skills, with a proven ability to present complex information concisely and persuasively.
- A proactive and results-oriented approach, coupled with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
