Environmental Manager Job Description

CBW Staffing Solutions is seeking an experienced Environmental Manager to join our team. As an Environmental Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our company complies with environmental regulations, minimizes our carbon footprint, and implements sustainable practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Implement Environmental Strategies: Develop and implement strategies to address environmental challenges, such as waste reduction, energy efficiency, and pollution control.
  • Ensure Compliance with Environmental Regulations: Ensure the company is compliant with ISO14001 standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct Environmental Audits and Assessments: Conduct audits, assess environmental impacts, gather data, and recommend improvements.
  • Educate Employees on Environmental Issues: Educate employees about environmental issues and responsibilities and create a culture of environmental awareness within all business practices.
  • Coordinate Waste Management and Recycling Initiatives: Coordinate waste management, identify and implement recycling initiatives, pollution controls, and safe waste disposal methods.
  • Liaise with Regulatory Bodies: Liaise with regulatory bodies such as the Environment Agency as and when required.
  • Assess and Analyze Environmental Performance Data: Assess, analyze, and collate environmental performance data and report information to internal staff, clients, and regulatory bodies.
  • Identify and Research New Renewable Technologies: Identify and research new renewable technologies and energy sources and explore the potential of introducing sustainable energy options for the business and its clients.
  • Prepare and Deliver Environmental Presentations: Prepare and deliver environmental presentations to third parties we work with such as councils, social landlords, schools, and colleges as part of our Community Benefit offerings.
  • Ensure Installation Projects Comply with Environmental Legislation: Ensure installation projects are carried out in line with environmental legislation and best practices are complied with.
Requirements:
  • Excellent Communication and Influencing Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Project Management Experience: The ability to take the lead on projects with experience of managing projects from start to completion.
  • Knowledge of Environmental Policies and Procedures: Knowledge and understanding of relevant company quality, environmental, and health and safety policies, procedures, instructions, and risk assessment systems.
  • Ability to Inspire and Build Confidence: The ability to inspire and build confidence in knowledge of environmental issues and impacts.
  • Good Time Management Skills: Good time management skills with an attention to detail and a methodical approach to working in a busy and changing environment.
  • Environmental Qualifications: A degree or HND in an environment-related subject, such as environmental sciences, environmental management, geography, or environmental health.
  • Knowledge of Management Systems Standards: Knowledge, understanding, and experience of working with management systems standards, including ISO9001, 14001, and ISO45001.
  • Interest in Environmental Issues: A genuine interest and understanding of environmental issues, relevant legislation, and renewable energy sources.
