Position Overview

Introduction

OXBO, a prominent player in the renewable energy sector, is on the lookout for a skilled Grid Specialist to enhance their grid operations team.

In this role, you will be responsible for pinpointing and cultivating prospects for solar, wind, and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) initiatives throughout the UK electricity network.

You will collaborate with a variety of stakeholders to ensure the successful preparation of solar, wind, and BESS projects for development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and assess grid capacity that is appropriate for renewable energy projects (BESS, solar, wind) and other power initiatives across the UK.
  • Formulate strategies for new Solar, wind, and BESS projects, as well as for existing projects and acquisitions.
  • Oversee the grid application process to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Coordinate with the legal department to manage delivery agreements effectively.
  • Maintain the project pipeline through regular communication with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) and Independent Distribution Network Operators (IDNOs).
  • Keep updated on industry regulations and advancements in technology.
  • Take full responsibility for projects, including managing deadlines, objectives, timelines, and success metrics.
  • Participate in industry conferences and networking events to enhance professional knowledge and connections.

Candidate Requirements

We are seeking a qualified Grid Specialist with a minimum of 2 years of experience in the UK electricity sector.

Experience with grid applications for large-scale power projects, particularly in Solar, Wind, and BESS, is essential.

A relevant academic background in electrical or power engineering is required.

Candidates must have the right to live and work in the UK.
