At NHS, we are seeking a skilled Forensic Healthcare Professional to support our team in London. As a key member of our custody healthcare service, you will work closely with police officers to assess and treat individuals detained in police custody. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying potential mental health conditions, addressing health needs, and gathering evidence for the criminal justice system.

This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires a high level of clinical expertise, empathy, and communication skills. You will be responsible for conducting clinical assessments, implementing interventions, and collecting forensic samples. Your advice and guidance will be invaluable to our custody officers, ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of detained persons.

Main Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality forensic practitioner services, adhering to the Codes of Practice of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 and local protocols.
  • Provide expert advice and support to custody officers, determining healthcare needs and priorities of care.
  • Offer a professional, responsive, and caring service to detained persons, supporting the custody sergeant and officers in assessing healthcare needs and implementing effective care pathways.
