Grafton Recruitment is currently looking to appoint a Specialist Assessor for SEND and Exam Accommodations to join our team.

The Specialist Assessor will be an integral part of the Additional Learning Support Team, collaborating with students, their families, educational institutions, colleagues, and external organizations to develop and implement tailored support plans for individuals with learning challenges and/or disabilities. This role is essential in providing pre-entry and ongoing support to facilitate the achievement of desired outcomes and progression.


Key Responsibilities:


Conduct specialized assessments for exam accommodations as necessary, including Wide Range Achievement Testing (WRAT's), and prepare the corresponding reports in accordance with established regulations.

Ensure timely screening of Additional Learning Support disclosures and conduct necessary support appointments.

Identify, evaluate, and recommend strategies to mitigate learning barriers, taking into account recommendations from Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), referrals, disclosures, and the needs and preferences of learners and their families.

Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure early identification of individual support requirements in alignment with the SEND Code of Practice.

Work in partnership with curriculum teams and broader support departments to ensure that recommendations for Additional Learning Support are effectively implemented and that learners receive the necessary assistance as outlined in their support plans and EHCPs.

Qualifications:
Experience in supporting individuals with emotional and behavioral challenges
Understanding of safeguarding protocols and experience in making referrals
Experience working with young individuals and vulnerable adults with learning difficulties and/or disabilities
Demonstrated ability to plan, prepare, and execute support programs/assessments as needed
A recognized qualification in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

Essential Skills:
