We are seeking a highly skilled System Modelling Engineer to join our team at Tokamak Energy, a leading global commercial fusion energy company. As a System Modelling Engineer, you will play a critical role in the development of our fusion energy technology, working closely with our team of experts to design and optimize our systems.
Key Responsibilities- System Modelling and Simulation: Develop and maintain 1D models of superconducting systems, including magnet, cooling interfaces, and circuits, amplifiers, protection, and grid power supply.
- Validation and Verification: Design and execute validation and verification scenarios with project members to ensure the accuracy and reliability of our models.
- Systems Engineering: Work with domain experts to develop Systems Engineering Models to facilitate communication and improve knowledge capture.
- Trade Studies: Perform trade studies to allow system-level optimization and improve the overall performance of our systems.
- Tool Development: Develop scripts and routines to enhance our System Modelling tools and improve their efficiency.
- Collaboration: Work closely with our Software Engineers to develop Hardware-in-the-Loop simulators and ensure seamless integration with our systems.
- Education: Degree in Physics, Mathematics, or Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- Experience: Experience with 1D modelling tools such as Modelica, Simulink, or Amesim, as well as Electrical or Thermal simulation.
- Programming Skills: Proficiency in programming/scripting skills in either Matlab, MySQL, or similar.
- Postgraduate Degree: Postgraduate Degree or practical experience in Systems Engineering, ideally with exposure to Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Control Theory: Skills in applying control theory for closed-loop systems.
- Teamwork: Experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
- Simscape Toolboxes: Skills in using Simscape Toolboxes (e.g., Electrical, Fluids, System Composer).
- MBSE Tools: Experience with an MBSE tool, e.g., Capella, Enterprise Architect, CATIA Magic, or other.
