About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled System Modelling Engineer to join our team at Tokamak Energy. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining system models and 1-D simulations for our superconducting magnet systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and build 1D models of superconducting systems, including magnet, cooling interfaces, and circuits.
  • Collaborate with project members to design validation and verification scenarios.
  • Work with domain experts to develop Systems Engineering Models to facilitate communication and improve knowledge capture.
  • Validate 1-D simulation models against real-world data.
  • Perform trade studies to optimize system-level performance.
  • Develop scripts and routines to enhance System Modelling tools.
  • Collaborate with Software Engineers to develop Hardware-in-the-Loop simulators.
Requirements
  • Degree in Physics, Mathematics, or Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
  • Experience with 1-D modelling tools such as Modelica, Simulink, or Amesim.
  • Experience with Electrical or Thermal simulation.
  • Programming/scripting skills in Matlab, MySQL, or similar.
Desirable Skills
  • Postgraduate Degree or practical experience in Systems Engineering, ideally with exposure to Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Skills in applying control theory for closed-loop systems.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Skills in using Simscape Toolboxes (e.g. Electrical, Fluids, System Composer).
  • Experience with an MBSE tool, e.g. Capella, Enterprise Architect, CATIA Magic, or other.
