Motorway Operations Specialist

As a vital member of the team, the Road Operations Coordinator plays a key role in assisting with the planning and scouting activities on the M40 motorway. This position involves collaborating with a dedicated team to conduct scouting operations, identifying the scope of work within designated closures as outlined by the operational program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct scouting for upcoming maintenance tasks.
  • Oversee scouting operations for scheduled maintenance or defect rectification.
  • Provide insights on the anticipated duration of each task.
  • Recommend suitable resources and materials required for tasks.
  • Document findings and report them to the Lead Scheduler.
  • Develop briefing packs for all planned works.
  • Assist the Lead Scheduler in compiling comprehensive work packs.
  • Ensure all necessary information and instructions are included in the work packs.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Visit sites to review completed works before finalizing defect closures.
  • Proactively report health and safety concerns.
  • Promptly report any near misses or incidents.
  • Foster a positive and safe working environment, ensuring adherence to all safety regulations and best practices.
  • Encourage a proactive approach towards health and safety.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of the M40 network and the specific requirements related to the defects being scouted. A strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities are essential when reviewing planned works on the network.

Technical Skills:

  • Familiarity with the Roadspace booking process is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Strong attention to detail in all aspects of work.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and MS Project.
  • Able to address issues on-site and provide effective solutions to the team.

Educational Background and Experience:

  • A solid educational background.
  • Experience working on high-speed networks is a plus.
  • Understanding of road construction and design principles.
