Job Summary

The MDE Group UK is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to oversee the construction and delivery of utility-scale photovoltaic solar projects across the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a high-performing team, fostering a positive work environment and promoting a culture of excellence.
  • Define Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and scope of work for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) firms, and participate in subcontractor selection and negotiations.
  • Evaluate potential solar sites and assist in due diligence, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Act as the Project Manager for EPC on PV solar projects, overseeing design reviews, change management, and permitting, and ensuring timely project delivery.
  • Monitor construction progress, adjust schedules, and address issues, maintaining open communication with stakeholders and ensuring project milestones are met.
  • Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure contract compliance, and manage project documentation, quality control, and internal/external reporting.
  • Support the development of policies, procedures, and safety management systems, and build and maintain relationships with subcontractors, utilities, and clients.
Requirements
  • 6-8 years' experience in project management, particularly in EPC construction, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Project, and Primavera P6, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Willingness to travel and a clean UK driving licence, with a flexible approach to working hours and locations.
  • Proven ability to meet business objectives, manage budgets, and handle change orders, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and quality.
Desirable Criteria
  • PMP certification or an undergraduate degree in a relevant field, such as engineering or business administration.
  • Experience in Electrical Engineering and leadership skills, with a strong understanding of industry trends and best practices.
