Materials Science Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Composite Materials Engineer to join our team at Science Solutions Recruitment.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and leading test programs for the qualification or screening of composite materials for aerospace applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead test programs for the qualification of composite materials, including prepregs for aerospace applications.
- Manage projects efficiently within strict timeframes and negotiate plans for specific projects within the team.
- Anticipate risks, future challenges, and opportunities for improvement, making recommendations within the team and wider business.
- Actively contribute to team development through coaching of junior engineers.
Requirements:
- Possess a minimum of a degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar field.
- Have significant experience working with composite materials in the industry.
- Previous experience working in the aerospace industry is highly desirable for this role.
- Six-sigma certification is highly desirable.
- Mechanical testing experience such as tensile, compression, and fracture testing is also required for this role.
