Role: Software Engineer - Kafka Specialist

Location: London

Daily rate: £750 - £1,000 pd paid inside IR35 via umbrella

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Kafka Specialist to join a leading global FinTech company on a six-month contract.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable, reliable, and high-performance Kafka clusters in cloud and on-premise environments.
  • Develop and maintain Kafka connectors for integration with various data sources and sinks.
  • Optimize Kafka configurations for maximum performance and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Kafka-related issues, including cluster performance, data loss, and data consistency problems.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement and manage Kafka deployment using Harness or similar tools.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of Linux Admin and Management, Kafka Admin and Management, Data replication, Kerberos, SSL/TLS, Active Directory, Shell scripting, Github, AWS skills, Jenkins, Ansible, Packer, and Terraform.
  • Preferred skills include Kubernetes, Docker, Grafana, Prometheus, PCI compliance knowledge, AWS Cloud experience, EKS, Jenkins, Git, DevOps, Terraform, Packer, Development background, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm Charts, ArgoCD, GitOps, and Networking concepts & troubleshooting experience.
  • 3+ years of experience with Apache Kafka and Confluent platform.
  • In-depth knowledge of Kafka Architecture and hands-on experience with Unix Shell scripting, Python, Docker, Jenkins, Kerberos, SSL/TLS, and Active Directory.
  • Experience with Packer, Harness, Grafana Prometheus, PCI compliance knowledge, Redhat Linux, and resolving Vulnerabilities and securing AWS infrastructure.
