Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Check Manager to join our team in Manchester. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and delivering maintenance inputs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and overseeing maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver allocated maintenance inputs to schedule
  • Deliver allocated projects and company initiatives to schedule
  • Assist the Base Maintenance Management Team as required
  • Line manage all staff within their agreed area of responsibility
  • Issue certificates of release to service for specific aircraft types
  • Allocate tasks and responsibilities within their work area
  • Maintain a log of progress against tasks
  • Provide and deliver daily production briefings
  • Update senior management as required
  • Develop solutions to deliver maintenance to target within budget constraints
  • Ensure daily progress reports are issued for aircraft under maintenance
  • Be accountable for the technical integrity of all work carried out under their control
  • Be accountable for the conduct and timekeeping of all allocated staff
  • Maintain allocated work areas to the highest standards of cleanliness
  • Ensure all husbandry and tool audit requirements are carried out and recorded
  • Carry out formal appraisals of hangar floor staff and advise the Head of Base Maintenance on potential for further training and individual development
  • Be responsible for continued H&S 'duty of care' of their team, ensuring all current procedures are followed
  • Carry out DQS self-audits in line with base maintenance procedures
  • Allocate audits to staff within their area of responsibility and coordinate responses where applicable
  • Assist with quality audits and support the implementation of robust closure plans
  • Assist the Head of Base Maintenance with the creation and management of budgets as required

Requirements

  • Right to live and work in the UK
  • Category B license with C certification by aircraft type
  • Hold a B777 and/or A320 type rating and C-cert
  • Wide body experience
  • Extensive base maintenance experience as a B1 and/or B2 Certifying Engineer
  • Working knowledge of Part 145 aviation legislation
