Engineering Manager Opportunity

Leonardo is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our Integrated Mission Solutions (IMS) sector. As an Engineering Manager, you will provide leadership and management to a team of Systems and Software engineers, working closely with the Chief Engineer and Senior Engineering Manager to deliver technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead all engineering aspects of products/projects, ensuring technical quality, schedule, and budget are maintained.
  • Manage cross-site, multi-disciplined engineering teams, defining roles and responsibilities.
  • Create a positive working relationship with customers and partners to deliver product/project capability.
  • Establish and maintain good lines of communication internally with the Engineering IPT, IPT lead, Project Manager, and Heads of function.
  • Provide clear expectations of project engineering goals, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with the Systems Design Authority, ensuring they are informed on technical progress, risk, and mitigation strategies.
  • Control project configuration and change management to ensure design reuse.
  • Support the management of Suppliers and project Make or Buy decisions.
Requirements:
  • Experience in delivery of engineering projects.
  • Ability to produce clear, concise engineering plans.
  • Commercial and business awareness.
  • Willingness to travel within the UK and possibly overseas.
  • Engineering or scientific Degree qualification (or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of Requirements elicitation, defining, and qualification of software products.
