Job Summary

The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and organized Inventory Management Specialist to join our dynamic Materials Management team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing clinical and other stock associated with the functioning and effectiveness of our specialist NHS Hospital.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage and monitor all PPE, clinical goods receipting, ordering, and inventory management tasks
  • Visit service user departments, undertake meetings with end users concerning stock issues, and undertake inventory stock ordering using Automatic Data Capture, handheld devices, and other Materials Management systems
  • Liaise with the relevant Trust Team/committees as well as external partners from NCL and NHS Supply Chain on a daily basis
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with key suppliers, NHS Supply Chain, and other stakeholders
  • Ensure accurate and timely stock management, including ordering, receiving, and storing of clinical and other stock
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Materials Management policies and procedures

Person Specification
  • A-level or NVQ L3 or equivalent experience of at least 2 years in a related environment
  • Inventory Management skills
  • Experience of distribution and storage of high-turnover critical stock lines
  • IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and web-based searches
  • Understanding of procurement processes and methodology
  • Ability to run-back order checks and avoid stock-out situations
  • Understanding of eProcurement and ability to raise purchase orders
  • Working relationship with key suppliers, NHS Supply Chain
  • Basic awareness of Health and Safety in the workplace
