About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Engineer to join our team at Bakkavor's food manufacturing facility in Barton Upon Humber.

As a Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for managing a team of shift engineers, ensuring the delivery of scheduled work and reactive work to optimize plant availability. You will also be responsible for maintaining, installing, and improving the performance of processing equipment across the site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of shift engineers to ensure delivery of scheduled work and reactive work
  • Maintain, install, and improve the performance of processing equipment
  • Implement agreed training and development plans to meet engineering and production needs
  • Comply with statutory and Bakkavor Health and Safety requirements
  • Ensure engineering downtime is minimized and accurately logged
  • Liaise with planning and operations teams to allow for PPM to be completed in a timely manner
  • Ensure all stock is logged in and out of the stores area
  • Maintain standards of hygiene and good housekeeping
Requirements
  • Strong people management experience
  • Multi-skilled background
  • Experience completing both reactive and planned maintenance activity and small installations
  • Strong communication skills
  • Appropriate professional mechanical or electrical engineering qualifications and training
  • Thorough understanding of common mechanical and electrical systems
  • Professional attitude with plenty of drive and enthusiasm
  • Good IT skills
