Job Title: Governance Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled Governance Officer to join our team at the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment. As a Governance Officer, you will play a critical role in supporting the Chief Governance Officer in delivering a best-in-class governance function to the Board and various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Chief Governance Officer in facilitating the smooth operation of board and key committee meetings, including providing content, producing accurate and timely minutes, and disseminating information to key stakeholders.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of governance developments and practices, and advise stakeholders on the implications of any changes.
  • Ensure the organisation meets its statutory and compliance requirements, including Charity Commission Filings and other regulatory submissions.
  • Assist with the maintenance of statutory books and records, ensuring they are centrally maintained and accessible, and statutory and regulatory filings are submitted on time.
  • Forge key external relationships, including with the Charity Commission and Privy Council.
  • Coordinate new subsidiary/branch openings or closures, and support documentation required for same.
  • Support the Chief Governance Officer on ad hoc projects.
Requirements:
  • A background in corporate governance.
  • Board and committee support experience.
  • Professional Governance Qualifications/Accreditation.
  • Financial Services and Not for Profit sector experience would be advantageous.
