Job Title: Academic Head

UEA is seeking an experienced and innovative Academic Head to lead our Student Inclusion and Access and Participation leadership team. As a key member of our senior management team, you will play a crucial role in shaping our institution's strategic approach to widening participation and promoting social inclusion.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the complexities of widening access to higher education and a proven track record of developing and implementing effective strategies to address these challenges. You will be responsible for leading a team of professionals in the design and delivery of initiatives aimed at promoting equality of opportunity and outcomes for students from underrepresented and disadvantaged groups.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive Access and Participation Plan (APP) that meets the expectations of the regulator, the Office for Students.
  • Project managing whole institution strategic and operational approaches to meet APP targets and regulatory requirements.
  • Leading a team of professionals in the design and delivery of initiatives aimed at promoting equality of opportunity and outcomes for students from underrepresented and disadvantaged groups.
  • Managing UEA's Widening Participation Evidence and Evaluation Team and being responsible for the design and development of all relevant monitoring, evaluation and reporting.
  • Line managing the APP administrative team.
