Electrical Product Test Engineer

About the Role:

The role of a test engineer involves working to evaluate and test products primarily for safety, efficiency, fit for purpose or for bespoke customer requirements. You will be ensuring products successfully pass testing, providing confidence that products are up to the required standard, and allowing market distribution of certified products for our global clients.

As a test engineer with CV Library, your role will involve carrying out test work on a defined range of electrical & electronic products to agreed quality, standards, and timescales. This will include:

  1. Undertaking electrical/electronic test work across a wide range of electrical appliances and equipment.
  2. Product testing in line with industry standards, procedures, or client needs.
  3. Producing quality test reports in a timely manner or project status reports as requested.
  4. Liaising with the calibration department on the maintenance and use of the correct equipment to carry out testing.
  5. Maintaining good housekeeping in the lab, office with all electronic data storage.
  6. Reporting and escalating issues in testing which impact performance or quality of results.
  7. Liaising with clients and advising on the status of work to facilitate premier customer service & on-time delivery on all work and projects.
  8. Responding to customer queries and providing technical support.
  9. Developing technical skills to enhance own skills & ability to carry out testing work across a wide variety of laboratories, equipment and standards or client bespoke requirements.
  10. Operating in line with quality and safety procedures to ensure compliance with the organisation's and legislative requirements and the requirements of ISO 17025.
  11. Supporting local and global teams to drive growth & improvement for CV Library globally.

Key Skills & Experience Required:

  1. Qualified in an electrical or electronics discipline with the experience to work safely across live electrical & electronics.
  2. Experience in using electrical test & measurement equipment including multi meters, oscilloscopes, flash testers, earth/resistance testers etc.
  3. Good level of computer literacy and working knowledge of MS Office or equivalent.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  1. Qualification to HNC/HND/BEng (or equivalent) standard within an electrical/electronic discipline.
