Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Duty Manager to join our team at AF Blakemore & Son Ltd. As a key member of our Alsager SPAR store leadership team, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, improving customer satisfaction, and leading a team of colleagues to achieve exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Store Manager in achieving store objectives, including sales growth, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.
  • Lead and motivate a team of colleagues to deliver exceptional customer service, achieve sales targets, and maintain a safe and secure store environment.
  • Assist in developing and implementing store strategies to drive sales growth, improve customer engagement, and increase operational efficiency.
  • Manage and control store inventory, including stock levels, ordering, and stockroom management.
  • Conduct regular team meetings, provide coaching and feedback, and support the development of colleagues to achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborate with the Store Manager to identify and address any operational issues, including customer complaints, staff performance, and store maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including health and safety, data protection, and employment law.
  • Participate in store promotions, events, and initiatives to drive sales growth and improve customer engagement.
  • Contribute to the development of the store's business plan, including sales targets, marketing strategies, and operational objectives.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a retail management or supervisory role, preferably in a convenience store or similar environment.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales growth, improving customer satisfaction, and leading a team to achieve exceptional results.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of colleagues.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to provide a high level of service to customers.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
