This position presents a rare chance to practice law free from conventional constraints such as billable hours, allowing you to explore diverse legal fields. Moreover, you will have opportunities for global travel and the pursuit of advanced qualifications.

  • Receive training at the prestigious Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, where you will acquire essential military competencies.
  • Engage in tactical studies and participate in various initiatives designed to bolster your leadership and command skills.

Upon completion of your initial training, you will join the Directorate of Army Legal Services for advanced legal education. This training will cover vital legal areas pertinent to a Military Legal Advisor, including the law of armed conflict, military discipline, and advisory roles. You will also have the chance to observe the operational environment of legal officers in various units.

Your training will culminate in a three-month assignment with a combat or support unit, providing you with invaluable insights into military life and the unique perspectives necessary for effective legal counsel.

Embark on an extraordinary career path.
As a Professionally Qualified Officer, you will begin your journey in Advisory, Prosecutions, or Operations. Your specialized training will include comprehensive legal education, with ongoing professional development opportunities throughout your career.

After your initial training, your professional journey will continue with exciting experiences such as adventurous training (e.g., skiing), international assignments, and further educational opportunities.

Being an Officer in the Army is a global experience. Enjoy 30 days of annual leave each year, in addition to public holidays and additional leave following operational deployments.
