Job Title: Prison Security Escort

We are seeking a reliable and trustworthy individual to join our team as a Prison Security Escort at HMP Isle Of Wight. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of contractors, staff, and prisoners during construction work on site.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Checking in contractors and their tools
  • Searching vehicles and contractors
  • Escorting contractors around the prison, ensuring they are never left unsupervised
  • Supervision of contractors while they are working on site
  • Patrolling perimeter and grounds
  • Searching buildings
  • Routine administrative work
Working Hours and Benefits:

Working hours: Monday to Friday (37 hours per week minimum). This is a standard sociable shift pattern, however individual contracts may vary, and hours could increase if the demand is there.

Holiday: All vacancies offer 33 days annual leave in addition to the basic rates.

Pay rates: £11.44 per hour (basic rate) plus hourly holiday pay. Overtime hourly rates vary between £15 - £20 depending on when the overtime is undertaken.

Requirements:
  • Honest, hard-working, reliable, trust-worthy, and great attention to detail
  • Excellent team player
  • No formal qualifications required
  • Previous experience in security or a similar role is not necessary
What We Offer:

Full training will be provided on site when you start. You will also have the opportunity to work in other local prisons around the area should there be the need.

Prison clearance is required, which can take up to 8 weeks. Once passed, this is valid for 5 years and can be transferred to any other prisons of a similar category.
