Position Overview

Meredith Brown Associates Ltd is seeking a skilled Financial Risk Management Analyst to assist the Head of Financial Risk. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that the organization maintains effective governance, policies, and procedures related to Financial Risk. This position encompasses the assessment, oversight, and reporting of various risk types, including interest rate, market, credit, liquidity, and climate risk, while also contributing to essential prudential exercises.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head of Financial Risk in the development and implementation of frameworks for Interest Rate, Market, Liquidity, Credit, and Climate Risk.
  • Conduct necessary analyses to formulate recommendations for investment strategies and related hedging activities.
  • Manage daily risk control tasks, which include monitoring risk limits and indicators, investigating anomalies, and providing insights to the Chief Risk & Compliance Officer.
  • Collaborate with the Treasury & Banking division and other business units to align the Financial Risk appetite.
  • Design risk modeling methodologies utilizing both external risk models and internally developed tools to enhance understanding of risk exposures.
  • Support the execution of capital and liquidity stress-testing initiatives.
  • Review and critically assess regulatory submissions as part of the Regulatory Reporting Oversight Framework.
  • Enhance risk modeling methodologies using third-party models and proprietary tools to gain insights into risk exposures.

Qualifications & Experience

  • At least 5 years of experience in Prudential Risk.
  • Experience in contributing to ILAAP, ICAAP, and recovery planning is preferred, with relevant banking experience in at least one area.
  • Proficient in interpreting and applying relevant PRA and CRR regulations.
  • Basic knowledge of financial risks, including those arising from climate change.
  • Strong digital skills.
  • Exceptional communication abilities, both written and verbal.
  • A curious mindset, independent judgment, and a capacity for constructive challenge.
  • Robust analytical skills with the ability to think critically and assess situations effectively.
  • A high level of initiative and self-motivation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team as well as independently.
