Care Assistant Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Care Assistant to join our team at Job Board Direct. As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our clients in their own homes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out tasks for clients as per their care plan, including personal care, housekeeping, and practical support.
  • Assist clients with self-care tasks, such as washing, dressing, and toileting.
  • Provide day sitting and night sitting services to clients.
  • Ensure clients are provided with refreshments and light snacks as needed.
  • Notify the office of any inability to report for duty and follow company policies on sickness and absence.

Personal Development:

  • Maintain professional knowledge and competence through ongoing training and development.
  • Attend mandatory training courses and other training and updates as deemed necessary.
  • Assist in the training and mentoring of new staff.

Health and Safety:

  • Report any illness, accident, or non-entry to a client's home to the office or on-call facility.
  • Promote safe working practices within all client homes.

Special Conditions:

  • The post requires the holder to be available at varying times, including early morning and late evening work, and may involve an on-call rota system.
  • The post holder is required to work weekends and bank holidays.
  • The post requires the holder to have a clear disclosure check in accordance with the regulatory body Access NI and/or other necessary police checks.
