As a School Librarian, you will play a vital role in developing a culture of reading across the school and community, and drive reading progress.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead on the delivery of establishing a beautiful library for the Primary and Secondary site
* Manage and maintain the school library and all its resources
* Identify and buy quality resources for the school library (and classroom libraries where appropriate) to meet the needs of the National Curriculum and to ensure the school have an age-appropriate, challenging, diverse and inclusive reading offer for pupils
* Teach pupils how to use the library successfully and how to enjoy choosing books
* Promote the enjoyment of and excitement about reading to all pupils
* Provide a warm, welcoming climate in the library and across the school to help pupils to develop as happy and successful learners
* Support pupils working outside of class and after school with their learning
* Run reading interventions, teaching pupils how to read, how to comprehend and how to love reading

Requirements:

* Maths and English GCSEs to Grade C - Essential
* Right to work in the UK - Essential
* A-Level English or equivalent to Grade C - Desirable
* Recognised professional qualification for librarianship or information management system - Desirable
* Ideally experience working in a Library previously or similar / transferrable experience
* Must be a team player
* Must be willing to go above and beyond daily for pupils
