About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Healthcare Support Worker to join our team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW). As a Senior Healthcare Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our nursing staff in delivering exceptional healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care while maintaining patient dignity and privacy
  • Work alongside registered nurses to provide essential nursing care for pediatric patients
  • Assist patients with daily living tasks, including hygiene, continence, and nutrition
  • Help with mobility needs and provide pressure area care
  • Provide emotional support to patients and their families
  • Take and record patients' vital signs and identify changes in their condition
  • Train and support new and junior team members, including student nurses
Requirements
  • Experience of providing care in a healthcare or social setting
  • Ability to work as a member of a team and prioritize tasks
  • Effective communication and documentation skills
  • Commitment to a caring approach to patients and relatives
  • Level 3 qualification in healthcare or equivalent experience
  • Level 2 Functional skills in English and Math's, or equivalent
