Specialist Support Worker
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Specialist Support Worker to join our Youth Justice team. As a Specialist Support Worker, you will work with young people aged 10-17 years old who are at risk of coming into contact with the criminal justice service.
Your primary responsibility will be to hold a caseload of young people referred into the service and conduct timely assessments to identify their needs. You will then create intervention plans to support your work with them within a multi-agency environment, working with partners and hearing the child's voice.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out regular interventions with the child and their family to meet the needs of the assessment
- Building professional and positive relationships with the child and their family to enable change and prevent offending behavior
- Carrying out group work activities as required in schools and/or in the community with young people and their families
We are looking for a dynamic and passionate individual who has experience of working with challenging young people. You will be able to engage with children with a trauma background who may not be trusting or initially keen to work with you. Your engagement skills will be flexible and adaptable, and you will be willing to persist where needed to gain the trust of families.
We offer a supportive, friendly, and collaborative environment to grow and develop your career and skills. Our comprehensive learning and development program will help you achieve your full potential. We also offer a range of benefits, including flexible working arrangements, staff engagement forums, and inclusive staff networks.
If you are a motivated and dedicated individual who is passionate about working with young people, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
