Job Title: Clinical/Counselling Psychologist/Therapist

We are seeking an experienced Clinical/Counselling Psychologist/Therapist to join our team in Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear (CNTW) NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be part of the Working Age Adults, Community Treatment Team in South Northumberland, working with adults experiencing complex and trauma-related mental health difficulties.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality, trauma-informed care that promotes recovery and wellbeing.
  • Work as an integrated member of the multi-disciplinary team, supporting triage, assessment, formulation, and care planning.
  • Offer supervision and consultation to colleagues.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities, including offering placements for trainees.
  • Contribute to service developments as part of the local leadership team.
About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team of psychologists, psychological therapists, and mental health professionals in Northumberland. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a range of therapies, including CBT, EMDR, CAT, IPT, Arts Therapies, and low-intensity interventions.

Requirements:
  • Doctoral level training in clinical psychology, including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, and Neuropsychology.
  • Experience of providing clinical supervision and training others.
  • Knowledge of the theory and practice of specialist psychological therapies in specific difficult-to-treat groups.
  • Ability to communicate complex information effectively to clients, their family, carers, and other professional colleagues.
