About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sustainable Travel Officer to join our team at Leicestershire County Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in driving forward our sustainable travel agenda and contributing to the development of our public transport network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the management of our supported passenger transport network and public rights of way network
  • Contribute to the promotion of cycling, walking, car-sharing, and public transport
  • Assist with the administration of bus service registrations and reporting changes to the commercial network
  • Analyze usage data and propose actions to improve the network
  • Respond to queries from the public, elected members, and other stakeholders in a professional and constructive manner
Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant subject area, or demonstrable work experience in a public-focused business
  • Problem-solving skills, including collecting, collating, and manipulating statistical information/data
  • Ability to manage a varied workload, working to tight timescales and agreed targets, and to supervise the work of others
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and other MS Office applications, including database maintenance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a customer-focused approach
  • Ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders, peers, and partners, creating open and transparent relationships based on trust
  • Good numerical and analytical skills, with attention to detail
