Position Overview

Electrical Maintenance Technician
Location: Leicester
Sector: Manufacturing
Shift Pattern: Double Days - Monday to Friday
Salary: £45,000 - £46,000 plus overtime opportunities

Gi Group is excited to collaborate with a leading manufacturing firm specializing in aerospace components. This role offers a unique work schedule, including a half day on Fridays during the first week and a full day off on Fridays during the second week.

Key Responsibilities:
 As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, your primary responsibility will be to perform reactive, preventative, and proactive maintenance on all site equipment.

Core Duties Include:

  • Conducting electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Performing fault diagnosis and repairs on CNC and PLC systems.
  • Assisting in the development, implementation, and monitoring of maintenance systems such as Preventive Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance, Reliability-Centered Maintenance, Condition-Based Maintenance, and FMEA programs.
  • Supporting the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiative.
  • Carrying out analyses and investigations using Failure Mode Analysis and Root Cause Analysis (5 Whys) to address equipment failures impacting product quality, equipment availability, and operational capacity.
  • Reporting findings to the Maintenance Supervisor and providing recommendations for enhancing maintenance programs and practices to mitigate equipment failures.
  • Participating in the formulation and review of maintenance procedures and policies.
  • Assisting with facility repairs as necessary.
  • Supporting machine relocation, including disconnection and re-commissioning.

Maintaining accurate records is essential.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possession of a relevant engineering qualification (electrical).
  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is essential.
  • Proven ability in root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge is advantageous.
