Location: South Leicestershire
Compensation: £40,000 base salary + Overtime + Benefits Package
Work Schedule: Rotating shifts including Days, Nights, and Weekends (35-hour work week)
The Resolute Group Ltd is collaborating with a prominent client in the Rail sector, recently awarded a long-term contract to oversee the Electrical assets in the South Leicestershire area.
No prior railway experience is necessary; however, candidates must possess an Electrical qualification, such as City and Guilds or NVQ level 3.
In this role, you will utilize your existing electrical expertise while receiving specialized training and support to further your career in the rail industry. Successful candidates will play a vital role in maintaining and ensuring the reliability of essential rail infrastructure, contributing to the safe and efficient operation of systems including UPS, Signalling, Lighting, and Trackside infrastructure.
This position is ideal for electrical professionals seeking to transition into a new field, including those from military backgrounds, domestic electricians, or maintenance engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and Repairs: Execute routine and preventive maintenance on electrical systems, including transformers, switchgear, and distribution boards.
- Inspections: Conduct regular assessments of electrical installations to detect faults, wear, and potential safety risks.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve electrical issues swiftly to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted railway operations.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all tasks adhere to legislative standards, health and safety regulations, and relevant electrical codes.
- Documentation: Maintain precise records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs for compliance and reporting purposes.
- Collaboration: Work in conjunction with other technicians, engineers, and contractors to ensure the seamless integration of electrical systems with other railway infrastructure.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Electrical bias apprenticeship – NVQ level 3 or City & Guilds or equivalent.
- Licensing: A valid driver's license (Car or Motorbike) is required due to the potential on-call nature of the role.
- Screening: Candidates must successfully pass a drug and alcohol screening.
Work Environment:
- Locations: South Leicestershire
- Hours: Rotating shifts of days, nights, and weekends, totaling a 35-hour work week.
- Safety: Adherence to strict safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
