Store Operations Leader

As a retail operations leader, you will represent Cancer Research UK, inspiring your team to achieve sales and fundraising objectives. Your store will serve as a hub for the community, where individuals can connect with our mission, learn about our initiatives, and witness the impactful work we do.
In a dynamic and engaging work environment, you will encounter new experiences daily, whether it’s discovering the latest retail trends, building community connections, or uncovering hidden talents.
You will be surrounded by individuals equally passionate about our mission to combat cancer.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading, motivating, and engaging a diverse team of staff and volunteers, focusing on recruitment, retention, and development. Overseeing the commercial operations of your store, including visual merchandising, inventory management, and maintaining high standards of presentation. Setting a positive example and delivering exceptional customer service. Enhancing profitability through effective cost management and sales strategies. Building relationships within the local community and collaborating with Cancer Research UK colleagues. Planning and executing innovative fundraising events to meet financial targets. Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and administrative procedures.Desired Skills:
Proven experience in managing and motivating a diverse team. Ability to work towards targets and inspire others to achieve them. Strong multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment. Understanding of excellent customer service principles. Commercial acumen. Familiarity with high street fashion retail. Flexibility in adapting to changing circumstances, with the ability to work independently. Awareness of the value and pricing of retail items. Our retail teams operate on a rota basis to meet store needs, balancing flexibility with your personal life.
To support your development in this role, you will undergo a four-week training period in a training store, guided by an experienced Training Shop Manager.
Due to the nature of this position, any employment offer will be contingent upon a satisfactory basic DBS check.
