Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team at Supply Desk. The successful candidate will work with students with Autism Spectrum Condition, providing support and assistance in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and deliver activities that cater to the needs of students with Autism.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans to support students' progress and well-being.
  • Work closely with teachers, support staff, families, and external agencies to provide comprehensive support to students.
  • Establish therapeutic relationships with students and adapt interactions to meet their individual needs.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Condition or a strong desire to work in this field.
  • Good knowledge of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and a passion for developing skills in this area.
  • Able to commit to working fixed days, full or part-time.
  • NVQ in Childcare and Education or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
  • Previous experience in residential support work, care, or support in schools.
  • Team Teach, TEACCH, or Positive Handling training.
  • Experience in developing independence in young people and supporting social and emotional development.
  • A clear and valid DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
