Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Screening Technician to join our team at Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our community AAA screening programme, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Screening Technician Team, ensuring that abdominal ultrasound scanning is undertaken to a high standard and in accordance with national standard operating procedures.

Main Responsibilities
  • Reassure men attending the community AAA screening and surveillance clinics, explaining the screening test to them and ensuring they are informed and aware of the implications of AAA screening.
  • Support the Programme Manager/Deputy Programme Manager and be responsible for the management of the Screening Technician Team, ensuring a high standard of ultrasound scanning and professionalism is maintained throughout the team.
  • Undertake abdominal ultrasound scanning as part of the community AAA screening programme, ensuring that scanning is undertaken to a high standard and in accordance with national standard operating procedures.
