Lead Cyber Security Governance Consultant

Active SC or DV clearance is essential

British National required due to security protocols

Contractual engagement, outside IR35, part-time (3 days per week)

Location: Remote

Identifi Global Resources is collaborating with a leading cyber security firm that specializes in delivering solutions to military and governmental entities throughout the UK.

In this pivotal role, you will engage with senior stakeholders from the Naval sector, playing a crucial part in the development and maintenance of comprehensive governance frameworks and processes. Your extensive knowledge and experience will be vital in crafting strategies to effectively mitigate cyber security risks while ensuring adherence to regulatory mandates and industry benchmarks. You will work closely with diverse teams, recommending future organizational structures that enhance cyber security governance and optimize operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Governance Framework Design: Create, implement, and refine governance frameworks customized to meet client specifications, integrating industry best practices and regulatory standards.
  2. Policy Development: Formulate and sustain clear, coherent policies, procedures, and guidelines for cyber security governance.
  3. Compliance Management: Remain informed about pertinent regulations and standards, ensuring alignment with GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST, and other compliance requirements.
  4. Internal Controls Management: Establish and oversee internal controls to protect data and assets, conducting regular assessments and audits.
  5. Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a liaison, providing guidance and support to internal teams, external partners, and regulatory bodies.
  6. Incident Response Collaboration: Work alongside the incident response team to develop and maintain effective response strategies and procedures.
  7. Organizational Structure Evaluation: Assess and enhance the existing organizational framework to fortify cyber security governance.
  8. Process Improvement Initiatives: Identify and pursue opportunities for process enhancements, driving initiatives to strengthen our governance framework and security posture.

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in cyber security governance, risk management, or compliance roles.
  • Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Significant experience within the Naval, maritime, or military sectors.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a strong commitment to professionalism.
  • Preferred certifications in Information Security, Cyber Security, or Risk Management (CISSP, CISM, CRISC).
