NHS Tayside is seeking a dedicated and experienced Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon to enhance our dynamic multidisciplinary team, which currently comprises four Consultant Breast Surgeons.
Our specialist breast service operates across two primary locations, providing comprehensive care for patients with both symptomatic and impalpable breast conditions. We collaborate closely with the regional Breast Screening service to ensure optimal patient management.
Each year, our unit is responsible for approximately 500 new breast cancer diagnoses, underscoring our commitment to high-quality patient care.
Job Structure: The indicative job plan consists of 10 sessions (8 Direct Clinical Care: 2 Supporting Professional Activities), with flexibility for candidates interested in part-time arrangements.
The successful applicant will be expected to deliver surgical services focused on the diagnosis and treatment of breast diseases, particularly for oncology patients. Proficiency in Oncoplastic breast surgery is highly desirable.
While this position does not include general surgery responsibilities, it does require participation in the on-call roster for breast-related cases.
This role offers significant opportunities for professional development, including teaching and research, facilitated by our strong connections with the local medical school and advanced surgical training facilities.
